So the nail growing project continues. All the UV-gel is off my nails now and they are thin as paper. I’ve been hearing great things about IBX treatment when it comes to damaged nails so I decided to give it a try. I had my first appointment the other day and this post is about my first impressions with IBX.
One of the most important things for me was that IBX doesn’t leave any layers of product on your nails. It goes into the nail and your nails feel and look natural after the treatment. The treatment process itself was very pleasant. There was no buffing down my already thin nails. Just a light touch to get rid of oils that might be on the nail plate. The product itself didn’t feel like anything. There was no burning sensation or anything at all as it absorbed into my nails. The process was also quick and I was out of the salon in 35 mins since I didn’t need my cuticles cleaned or my nails shaped before the treatment.
There isn’t a dramatic change to be seen on the before and after photos here BUT I felt a huge change just after this first treatment. My nails do look smoother and healthier now too. They are still thin, of course but they feel much better. My nails were super sensitive before the treatment. I mean even massaging nail oil on my nails was actually painful. I noticed a huge change on the sensitivity of my nails right after the treatment and the morning after my nails felt almost normal. I can now apply nail oil without any discomfort.
So my opinion after the first treatment? I’m quite impressed with the results just after one time. I have another appointment booked in two weeks and I can’t wait to see if there’s a change for better after that one too. I’m very hopeful that IBX will make this long and boring nail growing project a little more tolerable.
Here are some before and after photos of my left hand. I cleaned the nails with cleaner (alcohol) before taking each photo to eliminate nail oil/hand lotion making the results look different than they actually are. So these are completely clean nails before and after the IBX treatment.

That is a remarkable difference. Will be interesting to hear more about this as time pass. Best of luck on growing them!
Thank you :) I’ll be writing a post after every IBX treatment and monitoring the results closely in between the appointments.
Small but significant difference. Can’t wait to hear more!
I’ll keep everyone updated on the progress :)
the after definitely looks more hydrated. I am curious if this will work significantly better than just oil massage
I’m very curious too. I still use nail oil daily and massage a good amount of oil on my nails too between manicures. I’m just hoping this will add that little extra something that’ll keep my nails from peeling and falling apart.
This is fabuloys. I know we talked a little bit about your experience with IBX in the Hobby Blogger group. I’m glad to see a you blog about your experience
With It too. :-) It’s very helpful information.
Yes, we talked about this already and I intend to keep you guys up to date on the IBX experience here on my blog too :) Let me know if you decide to try it. I’d love to hear what you think :)
They do look better and more smooth after treatment. I hope your nails will continue to regain strength. Did you consider taking vitamins to help your nails get stronger?
Thank you :) There was definitely a difference in real life too. I actually take a supplement with biotin and zinc in it and it’s meant to help hair and nails grow. So I hope that’ll bring a little extra help to this nail growing project.
