I received my first ever NCLA polishes this week. I was very excited to try these cos they are my first 7-free polishes. I’ve heard nothing but good things about the brand plus their color and finish selection is amazing. I also got NCLA Treatments First Base base coat to test.
“All of our high shine luxury nail lacquers are formulated to be non-toxic, 100% vegan, and never tested on animals; because we love our skin and toxins are never fashionable.
Additionally we’re proud to say all of our nail lacquers are 7-Free* and made with love in California.

The colors I chose are pink Beverly Hills Bunny and Sagittarius cos that is my sign and that shade of purple is just amazing.
Beverly Hills Bunny is a bright pink creme with a blue flash.
The flash effect is more visible on the bottle and is really subtle on the nails. Even if it is subtle, it’s still there and brings something a little special to this polish. I think this was actually done perfectly for my taste.
The formula on this was a bit thick but very easy to apply and self leveling. Almost a one coater for shorter nails. Dry time was really quick and this didn’t stain my nails or cuticles.
For this manicure I used: a coat of NCLA Treatments First Base, two coats of Beverly Hills Bunny and a coat of HK Girl top coat.
Isn’t she gorgeous?
Next I tried Sagittarius, a royal purple creme.
The formula on this was a bit thinner but also very easy to apply. No balding or streaking and opaque with two coats. Fast dry time. I’m actually still wearing this as I write this review so I can’t comment on staining yet. It didn’t stain my cuticles too bad during clean up even if I messed up the application with one nail.
For this manicure I used: a coat of NCLA Treatments First Base, two coats of Sagittarius and a coat of HK Girl top coat.
I just love a good creme. So pretty!
I also wanted to test NCLA Treatments First Base Ultimate Base Coat cos I’m still in a search of a perfect base coat for me. Now I’ve been using Essie First Base and it works pretty well for me. Still can’t help but think there could be something better out there. Remains to be seen if this is my HG base coat.
The formula on this is a little thick but easy to apply. I think that this might actually work like a ridge filling product too because of the thick-ish formula. Dry time was quick and this dries to a satin finish. Smooth, satin nail surface makes an excellent base for color polishes. Some base coats that dry to satin/matte finish dry kind of soft and if you leave them alone on the nail they are easy to scratch off. NCLA First Base dries to a hard finish and staying power on the nails is good even when worn alone.
I will test this for a good while and get back to you with the results.
My first impression of the NCLA polishes is a very positive one. Good formula, well pigmented, self leveling and fast drying. I’m definitely interested in getting more now!
***These were sent to me as PR-samples. My opinion of them is my own and I’m not getting paid for this post.
These both sound like great polishes and I love the richness of the colors.
These were both really well pigmented and great quality. I will have to get some more from this brand just to see if they are all this good :)
I haven’t yet tried anything from NCLA, but I’m a sucker for things with my sign on them. I’ve gotta see what the Libra polish looks like!
I had to go check what Libra looks like :D Really nice vibrant baby blue. Now I want that one too! :D :D
I really wanted that pink to be my favorite. It’s beautiful! That purple is stunning though. I haven’t tried this brand. I might need to change that.
I’m very impressed with this brand. At least these two were great quality :)
Sagittarius is such a beautiful shade! I need to try something from this brand, maybe I should pick up my sign!
It really is :) Gotta love a good purple creme :)
